It Didn’t Belong Here—So How Did It Get Here?

Clean-Up Efforts: Making a Massive Impact on Environment, Neighborhoods, and City Health

In just two hours, a small but committed team removed 692 pounds of trash from East Bouldin Creek in Austin’s 78704. What once clogged the creek bed and lined the banks was lifted out by volunteers who simply showed up and cared.

This is the power of community action. When people pitch in by volunteering a few hours, contributing supplies, or supporting clean-up efforts, the impact is immediate and visible. Imagine the difference if this team were doubled. Or tripled.

Every bag of trash removed protects our waterways, our parks, our wildlife, and the health of our neighborhoods. Every person who participates helps keep Austin safe, beautiful, and vibrant for those who live here now and for future generations.

It’s simple. Show up. Lend a hand. Support the work.
Play your role in keeping Austin clean because this city is worth caring for.
