We Have Some Announcements
A photo of the Austin skyline with the buildings colored a beautiful pinkish hue from the sunset. It is connected to a blog about 7 reasons to pickup trash in Austin, Texas.

Make Austin Clean have 2 very exciting announcements and collaborations that we want to share.

Adopt-A-Creek

Make Austin Clean is now the official adopter of East Bouldin Creek from Oltorf St heading north toward the city and ending where the creek crosses 1st St.

To clean the creek, we are looking at hundreds of volunteer hours needed. Our first two events will be on April 8th and April 15th, if you want to help us clean the creek, register below!

This is a super exciting collaboration with Keep Austin Beautiful who run this initiative with the support of Austin Watershed Protection Department. It encourages people to adopt a creek in Austin and make a commitment to take on the responsibility of helping to clean it up.

We have committed to hosting at least 4 restoration events every year for a minimum of two years in our effort to help restore East Bouldin Creek. We can hopefully pick up enough trash along the creek to keep it clean so that we can continue to enjoy it for many years.

You can read more about this initiative on the Keep Austin Beautiful website.

Adopt-A-Park

Our second announcement is that Make Austin Clean are the official adopters of the Ricky Guerrero Park in Bouldin Creek.

This is a collaboration with Austin Parks Foundation who have the support of the Austin Parks & Recreation Department.

As park adopters we will continue our dedication to cleaning up Austin and help with overall park improvement. We will serve as important community spokespeople for Ricky Guerrero Park and we will promote interaction with nearby residents and park visitors in an effort to boost the park system.

You can read more about this on the Austin Parks Foundation website.
